This industry runs on reputation, and it should. Anyone can write a convincing page about engineering standards. What matters is what happens on a Friday afternoon when a generator fails and the yard shuts at five.
So judge us the way you’d judge a hire.
The founder’s references go back through a career on large yachts and merchant ships — captains, chief engineers, owners and yards, most of whom will still take the call. That list exists because the work was done properly the first time, in conditions where it would have been obvious if it hadn’t been.
Every engineer we put on a boat is held to the same test. Sea time that adds up, qualifications that are current, and references we’ve actually spoken to — not collected. We’re not interested in a CV that looks good on paper; we want to know how someone behaves at two in the morning with a problem they haven’t seen before. If we wouldn’t want them on our own watch, they don’t go on yours.
And for how we operate day to day, ask the owners we already work for. They’ll tell you whether the records are up to date, whether the jobs get closed out, and whether we’re straight with them when something costs more than we said it would. That’s a more useful conversation than anything we could write here.
