Behind every large yacht and commercial ship sits a technical superintendent: the person ashore who plans the maintenance, runs the yard period, checks the invoices and takes the call when something is not right. A privately run yacht rarely needs one full time. CBM Marine provides the role when you need it, working alongside your captain.
The role sits behind the captain, not over them. We take the planning, the procurement and the paperwork off the boat, so the captain can run the yacht, and we give the captain a technical team to call when something goes wrong.
Most of the work is done from ashore. When a job needs hands on site, we place an experienced engineer on board as crew, employed by you and managed by us, and support them from ashore.

No. A yacht manager typically looks after crew, finance and compliance for the owner. A technical superintendent looks after the technical condition of the vessel: maintenance, repairs, refits and the technical record.
Yes. That is the point of the service. You use the role when you need it and pay for what you use, with no permanent crew position to carry.
Email us the vessel and the job. We will tell you how we would approach it.
